Key takeaways
- A live social product for real venues, not another feed.
- One member journey: discover → group → chat → meet.
- A protected admin console for users, venues, events, reports, and billing.
The problem
SpotyMeet had a clear product idea but no single system to carry it: discovery, groups, chat, venue profiles, subscriptions, and business events were separate problems. The product needed one identity and one flow that could work for members, venues, and the team running moderation. The first release had to be useful before the network was full — and safe enough to grow.
The approach
We designed the product around the real-world journey: find a venue, see who is going, join a group, chat, and meet. The web app brings discovery, social features, subscriptions, and business events into one consistent experience.
What we built
- Real-time venue and people discovery
- SpotyGroups and chat
- Subscription plans and payments
- Business events and partner venues
- Responsive web app
Inside the build

The hard problems
Instant translation
Detect the sender language, translate in context, preserve tone, and fall back gracefully when a provider is slow.
Real-time coordination
Venue presence, group membership, chat, and meet requests must stay consistent under load.
Trust and safety
Reports, blocking, account status, and moderation must be fast without exposing private data.
Payments and entitlements
Plans, renewals, failed payments, and feature access must agree at all times.
The front end
The product is built around one real-world loop: see who is at a venue, join a group, chat, and meet. Profiles, venue pages, events, and subscriptions sit in one navigation, so the experience feels like a place rather than a set of screens.
The admin console
The admin panel is a separate product from the member app. It is the control room for the team: users, venues, events, reports, billing, and access.
- Users and roles: search, warn, suspend, or delete accounts.
- Venues and places: add, edit, verify, and publish locations.
- Events and partners: manage partner venues, events, and business accounts.
- Reports and moderation: review reports, content, and account history.
- Subscriptions and billing: plans, entitlements, renewals, and failed payments.
- Audit and sessions: admin activity, active sessions, passkeys, TOTP, and recovery codes.
Protected by passkey, authenticator, recovery codes, role-based permissions, and an audit log.

- Expand partner tools for venues
- Keep moderation and safety ahead of growth
What we learned
A social product is not a feed. It is a sequence of small decisions that ends in a real meeting. The interface has to make the next step obvious, and the back office has to make safety faster than abuse.
Project owner note
“We built SpotyMeet to make real-world meetings simple: see who is at the venue, join the group, and meet. The web product now runs that journey in one place.”
